America's Got Talent - Performance Episode #3

Yay! Boy Shakira and Kashif are not in the Top 10 (I still can't believe they made it to the Top 20 when people like the 3 Redneck Tenors were left on the sidelines). You can read my thoughts about tonight's performances HERE.

My picks to go home at the beginning of next week's show are Julienne Irwin and Sideswipe (the latter should not have made it to the Top 10 since they didn't have much more to offer). Julienne is a wild card though as she could get a lot of votes from the younger audience members since she is the younger contestant.

On another note, I'm currently watching The Singing Bee and it's 80s night! I love 80s (and early 90s) music.

My Summer Watchlist

Summer 2007 is unusual for me as it's my first summer since 1992 where I'm home. Since 1992, I've been attending or working at summer camps where there is 1 TV for way too many people, making it impossible for me to watch the shows I wanted. Luckily, in the past years, I was able to tape 1 show per summer (CBS's Big Brother) and had a friend who sent me DVDs of other series (like The 4400).

Since I'm home this summer, and have a 4 TV/1 me ratio, I have decided to get addicted to a few TV series. Sadly, summer TV is not that good, especially since I don't have channels like HBO, Showtime, and the likes. Therefore, I'm stuck watching mostly reality series. Here is what I'm watching this summer:
  • America's Got Talent, NBC
  • American Inventor, ABC
  • Big Brother, CBS
  • Brother and Sisters (I didn't watch the first run so I'm catching reruns), ABC
  • Greek, ABC
  • Hell's Kitchen, FOX
  • Kyle XY, ABC Family
  • So You Think You Can Dance, FOX
  • The 4400, USA Network
I also watched The Next Best Thing on ABC. When I'm working from home, I catch reruns of episodes I never watched of Buffy, Crossing Jordan and Star Trek: The Next Generation. I plan to torture myself by watching the six unaired episodes of The Nine when ABC airs them. I say torture because I know we will not get proper closure and all answers.

Kyle XY - What's The Frequency, Kyle? (Episode 2.08)

You can read my latest Kyle XY review HERE. You can read my other Kyle XY episode reviews at the following links:

Dead Like Me movie

Not having Showtime, I was never able to catch Dead Like Me during its original airings. Thanks to reruns, I've been able to enjoy this gem of a series which was canceled after only two seasons. A few weeks ago, it was announced that a direct-to-DVD movie was in the works.

If you want to know more about the movie and read a few not-that-spoilerish spoilers about it, go read my Some Dead Like Me movie spoilers article.

Miss TV Guide enters the building

After another trip to Florida with my parents before I started highschool, I decided I would learn English. I knew that English classes wouldn't be enough so I decided to watch English TV (with English captions on) and only that. This made me catch the TV bug and learn most of my English. This also had my highschool friends and peers nickname me Miss TV Guide since I watched so many hours of TV I could tell them what show aired when and what happened ("talent" they liked and used because one of our English teachers asked we watched 30 minutes of English TV per week and take notes on what happened... of course, I was the "notes" provider!).

On page 26 of my highschool year book, you can read that my "favorite sport" is "watching TV." The paragraph next to my picture also mentions "If you need information about a TV series, go see her. She knows the TV Guide by heart!" This is something my friends still say about me!

When the Internet made its way to my home, I was introduced to the world of spoilers (information about upcoming episodes), boards, websites devoted to TV series, and websites devoted to TV news. Since then, I've made my way in the TV world and worked for many websites.

Nowadays, I'm trying to concentrate my Internet time to various TV sites including AOL's TV Squad where I blog about various TV series and news. I still do TV web work under an alias, and since I want anonymity there, I'll keep it the alias to myself (those of you reading who know it, please don't say it...).

I'm starting this blog today because I want to openly share my passion for TV. I've been blogging under an alias but I've grown tired of it.

I present to you the "Miss TV Guide" blog where I'll dish and give my two cents about various TV series, give random TV news, etc. I hope you enjoy it!
